Templar Horse Seal

1. Poor Knights of Christ
Legend has it that the famous 'Grand Seal of the Knights Templar' of two knights on one horse is often referred to as a symbol of the 'Poor Knights of Christ' poverty, as two knights through poverty have to share one horse. In reality a horse carrying two fully loaded Knights with shields, lances, swords and mail chain would probably make the horse die of exhaustion within a few miles, let alone riding on the march for 40-50 miles a day.

2. Templar Spiritual Symbolism
Legend has it that the two Knights on one horse represents the two parts of a human, one Knight for the material body and one Knight for the spiritual body or soul of a knight.

3. As Above so is below
Legend has it that the two Knights represented Heaven and Earth or Good and Evil, both travelling together at the same time by the same means.
